NJCAEF is hiring a full‐time, bilingual Intake and Outreach Coordinator (IOC) for the fair housing department. Working under the direction of the Director, the Intake and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for intake and case management of fair housing complaint allegations, technical assistance requests, landlord/tenant complaints, and requests for fair housing information or referrals. The IOC is responsible for designing and implementing trainings and outreach through presentations, webinars, publications, online platforms including social media. Trainings are provided to housing consumers, social service agencies, housing providers, local government, and the general public. The IOC is responsible for publicizing NJCAEF’s fair housing program and services throughout the state and representing NJCAEF at meetings and events, including in the role of public speaker.  Click here for a copy of the job description.

NJCA is hiring a Work and Family Organizer to staff and lead campaigns to adopt a statewide Earned Sick Days policy; expand and improve New Jersey’s paid family leave program (New Jersey Family Leave Insurance or FLI); enact Predictable Scheduling policies in the state and other issues of worker justice and family caregiving. The person in this position would staff and lead the New Jersey Time to Care Coalition, a diverse group of over 100 advocacy, union, women, religious, community and social justice organizations working to improve workplace programs and policies that ensure that working families have paid time to care. NJCA is hiring a full-time Grassroots Resistance Organizer to expand our grassroots power and mobilize that power to advance proactive state-level policies. The Grassroots Resistance Organizer will also coordinate our efforts to stop attempts by Congress and the Trump Administration to rollback programs and protections, including Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, consumer financial protections, policies that affect immigrants, and workplace policies that support women and families. Examples of our proactive issue campaigns include adoption of a paid sick days policy, expanded paid family leave, tax and budget fairness and health care reform. New Jersey Citizen Action, a statewide grassroots nonprofit organization that fights for social, racial and economic justice, is hiring a full-time Bilingual Community Educator. Working under the direction of the Development Director, the Community Educator will reach out to targeted constituencies to educate consumers on fair housing and housing discrimination and other consumer protection and financial education issues.  The Community Educator will focus on education and outreach to low- and moderate-income communities across the state, providing consumers with information and resources on various consumer financial protection issues. New Jersey Citizen Action is in need of volunteers working out of our Highland Park and Newark offices on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays to do data inputting of and phone calling to activists across the state, inviting them to participate in upcoming events and actions coordinated by NJCA.
